German Oceanographic Museum

The German Oceanographic Museum with its four exhibitions is the largest museum of natural science in Northern Germany. A well-balanced mixture of beautiful fish-tanks and exhibitions - rewarded with the prize "European Museum of the Year 2010". Go on a fascinating underwater trip through the oceans of the north and south.

Enjoy extensive tours through the underwater world of the Northern Sea and get to know Stralsund’s port basin’s sea dwellers. On one of the most beautiful costs, in the midst of the National Park "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft" you can find Darßer Ort with its 160 years old lighthouse. Today the lighthouse accommodates one of the locations of the German Oceanographic Museum Stralsund - the NATUREUM. It is one of the most visited destinations on the peninsula Fischland-Darß-Zingst.
