19th Great Stralsund Pottery Market on the Old Market Square
Once again this year, from August 6th to 8th, Stralsund's "Alter Markt" (Old Market) will transform into a sea of clay and color, offering visitors a diverse array of ceramics. Over 30 ceramic workshops and studios have confirmed their participation and will present their work with expertise and care. Lovers of unique, maritime ceramics will find something to their liking at the Stralsund Pottery Market, as will those who appreciate rustic, functional ceramics or lovingly designed children's tableware. A Hungarian ocarina stand will demonstrate that clay can also be used to create special instruments, while individual garden ceramics, vibrant ceramic flowers, and delicate faience paintings are just a few examples of the almost inexhaustible variety of ceramics on offer. Weather permitting, a 100-year-old, foot-powered potter's wheel will be demonstrated live. Wood and amber crafts, intricate knitwear, and unique soap creations further expand the range of creative handicrafts on offer. Culinary delights complement the market offerings, including fine spices, exotic teas, traditional Dutch cheeses, and natural honey. The pottery market is open Friday and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Sunday from 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM. All residents and visitors of Stralsund are warmly invited to attend.
