Setting sail on the Sound

Anyone who wants to actively experience the Baltic Sea landscape of the Hanseatic city of Stralsund and its surroundings on holiday or on a day trip will find many maritime offers in the sea city.
The location of the harbor means that ships can moor not just near, but actually in the city. A special experience for sailors before they set off for new horizons and a beautiful backdrop for those who prefer to have solid ground under their feet. Experienced sailors have the opportunity to rent sailing boats and go on their own discovery tour. For those who like to relax, sailing offers are just the thing. But motorboats without a license can also be chartered in the Hanseatic city. Sports such as stand-up paddling or canoe and kayak trips are also offered in the Hanseatic city and the surrounding areas.

Experience Wednesday Regatta

The Wednesday Regatta is an event that is popular not only among sailors and has established itself as an important water sports event in the Hanseatic city. It takes place from May to September on the Strelasund against the backdrop of the Hanseatic city of Stralsund.

Experience as a spectator: You can admire the spectacle up close from the Stralsund North Mole. After the regatta, the evening traditionally ends with the participants debriefing and a drink at the Golden Anchor.

Be there as a sailor: If you are interested, please register for the regatta, which is one of the largest regular regattas in Germany. All boats, dinghies and catamarans that have registered by the respective Wednesday and have valid liability insurance are allowed to take part. The start is directly in front of the north pier and a triangular course is sailed between the Stralsund Sundpromenade, Altefähr and the Rügen Bridge.
