Central Station
Stralsund's main station was opened in 1863. However, the brick building was not built until 1903 and inaugurated in 1905. The impressive painting, which shows Stralsund and the island of Rügen in large-format depictions from a bird's eye view, was only made in the 1930s by the Stralsund artist Erich Kliefert in the reception hall. In the 1990s, the station building was renovated and the area between the platform and the station building was provided with a modern glass roof.
At the train station you will find lockers for luggage storage, shops for travel supplies, a taxi stand, short-term parking spaces and bicycle parking spaces, connections to public transport and, of course, public toilets.
