Arriving by car
From Berlin: Take the A11 northwards, then change to the A20 at the "Uckermark junction" and stay on this until you reach the "Stralsund / Sassnitz / Rügen" exit and take it there. Then continue on the Rügen feeder road to Stralsund. Alternatively, you can also use the B96 and B105 federal highways.
From Hamburg: Take the A1 towards Lübeck, then the A20 towards Rostock/Stralsund. Follow the A20 to the "Stralsund" exit. Then continue on the Rügen feeder road to Stralsund.
Arrival and departure by train
The main train station is an important transport hub for visiting Stralsund or for taking day trips to the island of Rügen, the island of Usedom, the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula and the surrounding area.

The Transport company Vorpommern-Rügen mbH (VVR) is our local public transport provider. In addition to the service area of the Hanseatic City of Stralsund, the VVR operates bus connections throughout the entire Vorpommern-Rügen district. This means you can also reach destinations in the surrounding area from the Hanseatic City of Stralsund.
