Located on Stralsund's harbor island, the OZEANEUM invites visitors on a unique journey through the underwater world of the northern seas with its interactive exhibits and 50 aquariums. An extraordinary tunnel aquarium, through which visitors can walk, and the 2,6 million-liter "Open Atlantic" tank, where schools of fish and various species of sharks and rays can be observed on two levels, delight visitors of all ages. Another highlight is the Humboldt penguins on the rooftop terrace, which also offers a magnificent panoramic view of the skyline of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Stralsund. The tour concludes in the impressive "1:1 Giants of the Seas" exhibit, where life-size replicas of whales float above the entire height of the room. Since December 2025, the new immersive show "The World of Whales" has been running daily here.

In one of the most beautiful spots on the German coast, right in the heart of the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park, visitors can explore the NATUREUM natural history museum at Darßer Ort. Besides the museum, which showcases the diverse Darß landscape, the lighthouse, built in 1848 and open to the public again since 1995, attracts many visitors each year. After climbing 126 steps to the viewing platform at a height of 30 meters, visitors are rewarded with a fantastic panoramic view of the Baltic Sea and the Darß landscape when the weather is good.
